Terms of Use
Last updated: April 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the LEOnidas mobile application and web admin portal (collectively, the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. Authorized use
The Platform is available only to authorized Texas law enforcement officers and administrators whose accounts have been created and approved by a LEOnidas department administrator. Unauthorized access is prohibited.
2. Scope — Texas criminal law only
The Platform is designed for Texas criminal law investigative scenarios only. It retrieves Texas statutes and relevant case law for criminal scenarios. Civil matters, federal offenses outside the Texas Penal Code scope, and out-of-state scenarios are outside the system’s intended use.
3. Not legal advice
LEOnidas is a tool for investigative assistance only. It is not legal advice. Analysis results may include possible criminal offenses, potentially applicable statutes, and investigative questions. These results are generated from retrieved sources and AI analysis and are not a substitute for:
- Qualified legal counsel
- Prosecutorial review
- Your agency’s policies and procedures
- Applicable Texas law enforcement training standards
4. Data restrictions
You must not enter into the Platform:
- Names, addresses, or identifying information of any person
- Active case numbers or incident report identifiers
- Information regulated under the FBI CJIS Security Policy
- Protected health information or other PII
- Classified, sealed, or otherwise protected information
Scenarios must be described using sanitized, non-identifying facts only. Violation of this restriction is a material breach of these Terms.
5. Accuracy of results
Analysis results depend on the availability and accuracy of retrieved external sources (Texas Legislature website, CourtListener). LEOnidas cannot guarantee that retrieved statutes are current, complete, or correctly interpreted by the AI model. Always verify results against official sources before taking action.
Retrieval failures are shown explicitly — a result that could not retrieve statutory sources will display a visible notice.
6. Immutability of case history
Submitted case entries and analysis results are stored as an immutable record. Officers cannot edit or delete submitted entries. This is a deliberate design choice to preserve the integrity of investigative records. Future actions create new entries; the original record is not modified.
7. Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials. Do not share your password. Report suspected unauthorized access to your department administrator immediately. Accounts may be locked after repeated failed login attempts.
8. Prohibited conduct
- Using the Platform for non-investigative purposes
- Entering CJIS or sensitive data as described in Section 4
- Attempting to access data belonging to another department or officer
- Reverse engineering, scraping, or automated querying of the Platform
- Sharing login credentials with unauthorized persons
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that retrieved legal sources will be current or complete.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Platform evolves. Continued use following a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
